On Letting Go
[Graduating Poly]
So earlier this week, I officially graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a diploma. Thinking about it, I guess that means I no longer have to do any more programming, but at the same time I spent three great years there, so it’s kind of a huge deal to me.
I’ve learnt lots of things, both in the diploma as well as in life, as cheesy as that sounds. I’ve definitely made good friends so it’s kinda sad for us to part ways into our different paths and endeavours.
Seeing how I did lots of growing up and maturing (yeah, right) during my time there, I’ll always be dropping by in memory.
[Silver Lining]
Yesterday, a few friends and myself managed to go to local band Trella’s last show.
Yes, last show.
I’m kinda bummed about that because I consider them to be my favourite local band. In some ways, they have inspired me, and it’s really weird to say that because they’re only about my age, and they are friends with my friends, but whatever.
I’ve read that the members have been tied down with National Service and some even have plans to go to university, so it’s easy to see why a hiatus would be the option for them. Still, they put on a great show last night and I’m glad I got to see it.
[T-Minus 9 Days]
My days are numbered. Pretty soon, it’ll be my turn to enlist for National Service. Same goes to every other male who has graduated from their tertiary education institutes.
Until then, I’ll be enjoying whatever free time I have left before my freedom as a civilian and citizen will be taken away for two years.
